I participated in a writing workshop where I was sparked to write about a word in the 12 steps in a genre of my choice. I chose the word POWERLESS in the form of an acrostic prose poem. Instead of writing about my experience with being powerless, I re-framed the word into some reminders for myself when feelings of powerlessness come up.
I feel powerlessness when my false self is engaged and my critical voice is activated. Being able to recognize this emotion gives my Loving Parent the opportunity to help me slow down, observe, and check-in with my Inner Family.
ACA has been the greatest step forward in my journey to find my True Self and I am grateful for the opportunity to attend meetings, talk to fellow travelers, and engage in service to support healing.
People give me the best
Of themselves based on what they have.
What?! A gap in what I need vs. what they can give? Remember:
Express my emotions - don’t bottle them up.
Respect myself and practice self-love (I’m in control of this!)
Lean into my loving parent. She is gentle, kind, lighthearted, and patient.
Empower myself to feel and heal.
