At ACA, we know how transformative recovery can be. Our ACA fellowship has supported countless individuals in healing from childhood trauma and dysfunction. But behind this life-saving work is a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time and energy to keep the wheels turning—our Board of Trustees.

For ACA to exist as a non-profit,  it is required that ACA has a Board of Trustees.   ACA relies on the leadership,  guidance, and the very existence of our program  by the service of our Board members. Unfortunately, we're facing a shortage of individuals stepping into these vital roles. That’s why ACA needs you—whether you’re ready to serve today or preparing for the future, your involvement can make a real difference.

Why is Board Service Important?

Serving on the Board of Trustees is more than just a position—it's an opportunity to ensure the longevity and health of our ACA fellowship. The Board plays an integral role in the governance of ACA, helping guide decisions that affect all members, the development of resources, and foremost,  to carry the message to the adult children who still suffer.

Without members who are willing to serve as Trustees, ACA could struggle to continue providing the life-saving services that have supported many of us through recovery. Our ACA fellowship, just like any organization, depends on strong, thoughtful leadership, and this is where you come in.

Are You Ready to Serve?

If you’re wondering whether Board service is right for you, here are some questions to consider:

  • Do you have a solid foundation in your own recovery, with a good grasp of the Steps, Traditions, and the Concept of Service?
  • Do you have a background in business, leadership, or management? Perhaps you’ve served as an executive secretary or in another administrative capacity?

If you answered yes to any of these, you may already have the experience and insight needed to serve as a Trustee. We’re looking for individuals who are not only committed to recovery but are also willing to contribute their skills to sustain our fellowship for future generations.

We’re Here to Help You Prepare

We’ve found that it’s helpful for potential Board members to contact us before officially submitting an application.  This allows us to clarify our process and to answer any questions that you may have.

Not ready yet? No problem! We can provide suggestions on how to prepare for Board service in the future. Serving on the Board of Trustees is a significant commitment, and we want to ensure you’re fully supported as you consider stepping into this role.

Supporting the Board—Even If You Can’t Serve Right Now

If you're not in a position to serve as a Trustee today, there’s still something you can do to help. Supporting the Board of Trustees by showing respect for their time and service is a vital part of sustaining our fellowship.

By valuing the work of our current Trustees and understanding the challenges they face, you create an emotionally safe environment for others to step up in the future. Your encouragement helps build a culture of service and leadership, both now and for the years to come.

Remember, the strength of ACA relies on the willingness of its members to step up. Whether you're serving as a Trustee today, or helping prepare or encourage future leaders, your contribution matters.
