The WSO Office plays an important role in carrying out the spirit of the 5th Tradition

Serving the Fellowship
The Spirit of the WSO Office
The WSO Office plays an important role in carrying out the spirit of ACA’s Fifth Tradition — to carry the message to adult children who still suffer.
Each of us has been profoundly affected by family dysfunction, and the work of the WSO helps ensure that recovery materials, meeting resources, and service information reach those who seek healing.
WSO Office Purpose
The purpose of the World Service Office is to act as the worldwide clearinghouse for all matters related to the ACA Fellowship. This includes overseeing and coordinating the production and distribution of ACA literature and materials, assisting new and existing groups, supporting ACA’s public outreach efforts, and responding to the needs of members, groups, service entities, and the public.
The office also fulfills ACA’s legal and administrative responsibilities — maintaining compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements, managing accounting and human resources documentation, safeguarding ACA’s intellectual property, and preserving the fellowship’s archives and historical records.
What happens at the WSO Office
The WSO supports the global ACA Fellowship through a wide range of essential activities. With dedicated workers in California, across the U.S., and around the world, the WSO:
- Publishes and distributes ACA literature through multiple international print and fulfillment hubs
- Supports translations so members can read ACA materials in their own languages
- Produces communications such as newsletters, daily meditation emails, and fellowship updates
- Maintains ACA websites and digital platforms, including the online store and meeting directory
- Responds to thousands of member inquiries each year via email and phone
- Supports ACA business operations, including the Annual Business Conference (ABC), the Board of Trustees, and WSO committees
- Manages finances and logistics, including budgeting, inventory, and contractor coordination
- Protects ACA copyrights and trademarks and ensures legal and nonprofit compliance
Together, these efforts keep the ACA Fellowship connected and help carry the message of recovery to adult children everywhere.
