We had a new couple attend our ACA meeting yesterday, and something happened that absolutely made my day.

The woman pulled out one of our ACA business cards and said, “I picked this up at the library.”

When I dropped ACA books off at the library, I had also left business cards and other literature, so it was exciting to hear that she had actually picked one up.

Then she said, “I also heard an ACA promo on the radio.”

And then came the comment that really got me:

“I’ve been seeing ACA everywhere. Maybe somebody’s trying to tell me something.”

That was a pretty powerful moment.

We’ve spent a lot of time getting ACA information into libraries, distributing literature, and working to get our public service announcements on the radio. We believed these outreach efforts could help people find ACA, but until yesterday, we had never had someone walk into a meeting and tell us directly that our outreach helped bring them there.

Our library project and our radio PSAs are working.

Sometimes service work involves planting seeds without ever knowing where—or if—they will grow. Yesterday, we got to see one of those seeds sprout.

It was definitely a natural high moment for me and a wonderful reminder of why we do this work.

Keep carrying the message. Someone out there may be seeing or hearing it exactly when they need it.
