There was Mom waiting for you
Little did I know you left me too
You were leaving for better things to do

Then in the Spring of ‘54
Our family of three now became four
But you were leaving
Out the door
Better things just like before

And on it went until you died
You swept a broken girl aside
Out that forever door you went
And a little girl's heart forever spent
