Orphanage

by | Jan 1, 2023 | ACA And The Arts, ComLine

This poem is about a character from my favorite TV series, Anne with an E. It was written about a very mean character and reveals some of her backstory and the trauma from her childhood.

she scrubbed the tile floors

watched as the bubbles

seeped through the cracks

in the broken pieces.

i'm sorry you're still here

i'm sorry you're still here

i'm sorry you're still here

she closed her eyes

and envisioned herself

loved

by the men in her life

accepted

by her mother

and finally

she let go.
